When utilizing social networks like Myspace, YouTube, and Facebook for your next chiropractic marketing campaign, be very careful how you proceed. You only get one shot at building credibility within your niche or local community, so, ideally you want to make sure that you receive guidance from someone who’s successfully harnessed the power of these networks already. Going at it alone will cost you thousands of dollars in mistakes, missed new patient opportunities, and a great deal of time, energy and effort learning a new language. There are also unspoken rules you must know as well if you want to be in it for the long term.

Social media is an interesting phenomenon, in the fact that, it has spread like wildfire and permanently altered the landscape and dynamics of communication as we know it. A question that is asked frequently by chiropractors is, “Are social networks just for teenagers?” In short, the answer is a whopping no! Not sure where this misconception came from but many are still oblivious to the millions of middle and older aged folks plugged in daily. Did you know that employers are actually passing laws at work because employees are literally addicted to this style of communication? As a savvy business owner and entrepreneur, I knew the implications of this immediately so I took advantage and my life hasn’t been the same since.

Ride the information super-highway straight to better abundance for your business and your life. Get on the path to success and utilize the unique power of Web 2.0 to transform your practice almost overnight. While you’re at it, I’ll teach you to create endless streams of income from other sources.

I’m going to show you exactly how to get dozens of new patients through your office doors each month, and guess what, you won’t have to pay a dime in advertising while you do it. Don’t listen to the self-proclaimed gurus who want to charge you ridiculous amounts of money to teach you the same old practices that are no longer working. If they aren’t teaching social media, they are teaching you nothing.

You would think every business would be using these social networks for their growth, but in reality, almost no one is! But the ones that I taught have, and they are the ones surviving and thriving in these difficult times. On one of my profiles, I have in excess of 6,400 friends, 3,000 of which are members of my local community who I can communicate with via blogs and bulletins. I’m honored to be the absolute first and only consultant to use social media’s power to unleash unbelievable wealth and attention, and only my students are privy to this priceless information.

I’ve solidified my place in the community as the chiropractic health expert and get many referrals monthly on autopilot. You can’t buy publicity like what I’ve been able to achieve from a grassroots standpoint. I’ve even garnered a great reputation in our profession as the Myspace and YouTube doctor / chiropractor. Needless to say, I’m booked for speaking engagements throughout the country because of the massive thirst for this innovative style of marketing. When I developed this marketing technique and program a couple years ago, I had a vision that it would positively impact thousands of business owners and it’s done just that.

Begin to brainstorm on what you want to be known for in your community and you can even start to create simple videos that will showcase your talents and let the people know that you are a real person. Keep the videos under five minutes, as people have a short attention span. Also, make them fun, interactive, and interesting so folks want to hear about your next adventure or health tip of the day. If you are unsure about how to create a video and the technical aspects, my video training course will bring you up to speed in no time.

I promise that this is easier than you ever thought possible. You won’t even need a camera to get started. I started with fantastic results using screen capture software, and these simple videos spread like wildfire on the internet. Those doctors paying through the teeth for pay-per-click would love to have the free advertising tricks that I teach. It’s time to dominate Google with this free advertising technique, and ditch the dollar-per-click trap. Watch your chiropractic practice soar almost overnight!

No, viral marketing isn’t like a computer virus, but it is a marketing tactic that spreads like a virus from person to person. Catch the drift? This is powerful marketing at its best, and Web 2.0 is the hot breeding ground.

It is otherwise known as “buzz marketing,” but viral marketing just refers to any trick or strategy to establish buzz, while getting other individuals to market you product or service for you. This is all done with no extra effort on your behalf. This can be extremely effective for real estate professionals like investors, realtors, agents, brokers and it’s very lucrative.

Let me give you a clear example. Picture sending an email, message or bulletin about one aspect of real estate to 100 people, and 15 of those 100 send it to 100 more, and 15 of those folks send it to 100 more and so on and so forth, until you have reached hundreds of thousands.

This is the very genius behind viral marketing. It’s about getting your message out to exponentially more people than you ever could have by conventional means. It seems sneaky, but you can basically target prospects that will then be converted to your message and begin to promote it.

When you tap into the secret power of the popularity of online games, videos, graphics, and other programs on sites like YouTube, you’ll create a great network of friends and proponents of your business.

Take advantage of this viral approach when you send out any messages, bulletins, comments and blogs into the market. My training series is comprised of 30 easy-to-follow videos that will take you step by step to your own success in real estate, chiropractic practice, network marketers and so many more. It’s time to transform your life and your business forever.

I can’t stand to see another real estate marketer make another whopping mistake on MySpace, but it happens more than you can imagine. This can greatly hinder your future growth. Don’t make your profile look like a big promo ad, glaring in everyone’s face. Not only will it look like Spam and people will be turned off by it, but MySpace might just pull your profile for unregulated solicitation.

You don’t want to lose your opportunity to harness the power of Web 2.0, so make sure you do it the right way from the beginning. Draw a huge friend list with a personable profile, and begin to market ever so softly to your new friends.

Many chiropractors go to school and gain excellent technical knowledge of their science. They graduate and start their business under the misguided notion that they need only hang a sign on their door and clients will begin flocking to them. When business takes too long to pick up speed, or even worse begins to falter, these practitioners are unequipped to market themselves. Particularly in today’s digital world, chiropractors who are willing to learn the simple techniques of online marketing will find themselves pulling ahead of their competition at an astonishing rate.

The same old outdated marketing that your consultant is shoving down your throat had its place in the past and is actually hurting you. Are you still wasting thousands on postcards, newspaper drops, and telemarketing per month? On top of that, are you wasting massive amounts of time trying to meet people at the “Chamber” with very minimal referrals and results? Believe it or not, the best form of marketing and advertising is 100% free now because communication dynamics have made a drastic shift in the last 3 years.

Three years ago I began using SEO / Web 2.0 marketing techniques. I was the first Chiropractor to bring these exciting new tools to our profession, and other doctors were stunned to learn that I was generating huge numbers of new clients with common websites like MySpace, Facebook and YouTube.

The very first time I logged on to a social networking site, I was convinced that there had to be a way to make this amazing tool work for me in my practice. I spent countless hours working out methods for generating new contacts and increasing my business online-and I found success!

During my research I observed how other chiropractors were approaching online marketing. They immediately signed up for their own profile and began spamming other members with their advertisements. Not only will this get you kicked off the website (since it is against the user agreement), but most people hate spam and the result will be the exact opposite of what you intended when you sent it in the first place. The only real way to make the most of these sites is to find a mentor; someone who has been there before and knows how to navigate the waters of Web 2.0.

If you want to succeed in social networking, you must be credible above all else. This means that your contacts and ‘friends’ have to feel that you bring some value to the community. Serious thought must be put in to designing your profile page, and the information that you place there. Your page should be interesting, captivating, fun and engaging.

A couple tips that I can give you for marketing on MySpace include: 1. Never send a friend request to someone unless you first type a friendly message letting them know who you are and why you want to be their friend; and 2. Keep plenty of videos on your profile page. These can be about chiropractic, or even subjects that interest you personally such as sports, music, or movies. Part of the success of social networking involves expressing your own personality to your contacts.

The world of online marketing is new and different from what many doctors are used to, but the benefits are so great that they are now beginning to realize the potential. To learn everything you need to know, you could take a year off and dedicate your time to becoming a Web 2.0 guru; or if you’re smart, you’ll find someone who has already ‘been there, done that’ to guide you as you establish yourself as a force to be reckoned with online.

For those who are concerned with having privacy on MySpace, there are many codes and tweaks you can use to protect your identity from everyone who isn’t on your friends list. While there are many bands and clubs on MySpace who want their profiles to become very popular, some people still prefer to have their pages private and hidden. Thankfully there are many ways to do this.

You probably already know that you can set your page preference on ‘private’. Your profile will be hidden for the most part by people who aren’t on your friends list, although anyone can still see your contact table. If you’d prefer to not have strangers sending you a friend request or a PM, there are ‘hide contact table codes’ on MySpace graphics sites.

If you have no desire to hide your MySpace profile, but still wish to hide your friends, there are codes you can use to hide your friends list, even your top 8. This is especially a good idea if many of your top 8 friends are young; it will help hide their profiles from any untrustworthy adult that may come across your page.

It is also possible to hide your online status to keep everyone from knowing when exactly you’re online. You can edit your MySpace privacy settings or copy and paste a ‘hide status’ code from a MySpace resources site. This way the ‘online now’ status won’t ever show up on your profile. You can find and use codes that will hide your last login time as well. Not only can you stay invisible while surfing MySpace, but you can keep anyone from knowing exactly the last time you were on.

There are MySpace codes that can be used to hide your about me specifics and favorites. This way strangers won’t be able to look at specific areas of your profile. There are also codes you can use to change your ‘about me’ layout if you don’t like the default format that MySpace provides. There are MySpace quiz and survey sites that offer thousands of different ‘about me’ quizzes. You can fill them out and then add them to your profile.

You can also use a code that will hide all of your comments. This is a good idea if you don’t like everyone seeing all of your comments. There are ‘hide comments’ codes that you can copy and paste into your ‘about me’ editor box. Not only will a ‘hide comments’ code keep your comments concealed, but it will help your MySpace page load more quickly as well.

So now you have some ideas about how to keep your MySpace private. There are many privacy codes that will allow you to hide whatever part(s) of your profile you wish to keep invisible. There are many privacy codes to choose from, without hidding your entire profile. It’s still possible to keep your MySpace page unique and true to yourself while maintaining your privacy.

Finding Old Friends through MySpace

The MySpace community is a wonderful forum which allows members to make new friends. While most users of MySpace are aware of the opportunity to make new friends through their interactions in the community, some of them may not realize MySpace can be used to find old friends with which you have lost contact. Although most people have the best of intentions of staying in contact with friends, this often does not happen. There are a number of reasons including careers, family obligations and social commitments which prevent old friends from staying in touch. Fortunately, MySpace offers a way for these old friends to reconnect. Although there are countless ways for old friends to find each other on MySpace we will describe three methods for finding old friends on MySpace which are popularly used by members of the community.

Let Them Come to You

The easiest way to reconnect with old friends on MySpace is to let them find you. Joining MySpace and creating a website profile may be all it takes for some members to find old friends within the community. If you are looking for an old friend, chances are they often wonder about you as well. If this old friend is already a member of MySpace they may occasionally search for you by name, nickname or interests throughout the community. MySpace has a search feature which gives users a variety of options which can help them to find long lost friends.

While this may seem like a passive approach to finding old friends on MySpace it can be very effective. It is especially effective when the lost friend is already a member of the community and is actively seeking to reconnect with you as well.

Do Your Research

A more time consuming way to reconnect with an old friend on MySpace is to search for them. This process can be incredibly time consuming and possibly fruitless or it can be extremely easy and rewarding. When searching for an old friend, begin your search by entering their complete name into the search feature and using the search by name button. If your old friend is a member of MySpace and has used his full name you will find him easily. There may be multiple results especially if your friend has a common name but you will likely recognize your friend when you come across his MySpace website.

If entering your friend’s complete name does not return any useful results you can also try entering their nickname. Members who do not use their full name when registering on MySpace often use a nickname as their moniker. Even if they don’t a search of the nickname may lead you to your friend’s website if his other friends refer to him by this nickname in their comments left on his website.

Finally, you can try using keywords related to your friend’s favorite hobby in searching for an old friend. This method is likely to be the most time consuming and may return countless result of those who share the same hobby as your friend.

Make a Plea

If all else fails, in searching for an old friend on MySpace you might consider making a plea for anyone who knows him to contact you on your blog or elsewhere on your website. You may find this leads to you being contacted either by your old friend directly or by someone who knows him and can provide you with contact information. This may sound like a farfetched search option but it is actually quite plausible. Many people enjoy the anonymity the Internet offers and are careful to avoid revealing personal details about themselves online. This may make it quite difficult for you to find an old friend on MySpace but it does not mean he is not a member. If he is a member it is likely he will find a blog posting on another website inquiring about where he is. This is because humans, by nature, can be quite narcissistic and it is not unusual for members of MySpace to routinely enter their own name into the search feature on MySpace to see if anyone is talking about them in the community.

Sports fans are very passionate in their feelings about their favorite sports team, so it isn’t any wonder that their passion should overflow into their MySpace layouts. In such a case, the task at hand comes to be to find the proper Myspace layout, and of course where to obtain it.

The best thing about the marriage between the LA Lakers and MySpace layouts is the simple fact that the Los Angeles Lakers colors are so well designed. It makes the natural layout of a MySpace design already very appealing, and with a proper design, an LA Lakers MySpace profile can be a true work of art after all is said and done. And when it comes down to it, having sports themes layouts can help build friendly rivalries and friendships.

Finding the best LA Lakers MySpace profile can be a little tricky, as not many profile designers make many variations of the same sports team. Thus, choice can sometimes be lacking in effect. But the most popular and well known MySpace resource websites should have enough designers to have different variations- thus giving users a separate profile from like-minded friends who have similar tastes in LA Lakers themes.

The next option in finding the perfect LA Lakers MySpace layout is to simply edit a preexisting layout to one’s needs. All one needs to do is find a layout with the same colors as the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, and then add pictures and other generated effects related to the sports team. But with the basic colors down, little further editing will be needed to create a great looking profile. Thus, little to no designing skill is required to get a professional layout.

An LA Lakers fan can also pay for a custom layout, should they have the funds ready to do so. In buying their own layout, LA Lakers fans will get a custom layout that will not be used by anyone else. This in itself gives bragging rights to the buyer, yet they also benefit from the professional design experience designers have. Popular technologies such as Flash are used by such experienced developers- something few profiles feature on a common basis.

In the end, the proper LA Lakers fan will find great satisfaction with obtaining a great looking Lakers MySpace layout. All that is needed is a little searching, and perhaps a little customization for a unique design. For those who want the best design possible, money can be used to pay professional developers who can create high class designs. Whatever the case, benefits of having an LA Lakers profile shouldn’t be ignored- and proper fans should take the chance to obtain them.

In Conclusion

Everyone wants to feature the best team in the NBA on their MySpace profile- the Los Angeles Lakers! but for those who are unfortunate enough to not share the same passion, an LA Lakers profile will give true basketball fans reasons to create friendly rivalries and relationships as a result of similar tastes. In such cases, MySpace layouts are much more than just decorations- they can help build and strengthen relationships and social connections.

Out of all the niches in MySpace layouts, romance and love are becoming quite popular. Even when Valentine’s Day is all said and done, there are plenty of reasons to have a functional love layout around for safe keeping. It might not be the most popular niche, but as MySpace users fine, there are many indirect benefits to be had.

The first application of MySpace love layouts is the obvious- during Valentine’s Day. This holiday is an internationally known holiday where those who have that “special someone” can celebrate their relationship with others. A week or two before Valentine’s Day, it is a good time to start making use of such love layouts. But for those who celebrate a relationship year round, there’s no reason in taking it down anytime soon.

One doesn’t have to wait for Valentine’s Day to get a MySpace love layout. Anniversaries are also great occasions to surprise one’s better half with an entire layout dedicated to them. Of course this would probable require that both parties have MySpace accounts and that they check them frequently, but for those who fit this situation, there’s no better way to obtain brownie points.

Not all uses of romantic and love MySpace layouts are for direct use. Those looking for a girly MySpace layout, for instance, should look at love layouts for the sole reason of modifying it. If one is still searching for the perfect layout and can’t find it, looking in other genres of layouts and planning to customize it after downloading it is a viable solution. This does, however, require design experience.

Guys don’t have to be turned away from the romance and love that females are more likely to use than men. While there may not be any credit given from a man’s peers from using such a layout, the brownie points gained from a significant other are sometimes worth the hassle. Even better is the fact that some MySpace romantic layouts cater especially to guys- so as to make them more acceptable.

As a last note of caution, MySpace users should keep in mind that a romance or love layout should never have to be paid for. While many websites will charge for customizations and unique designs, finding a free layout and customizing it to one’s own need is the better solution. After all, romance profiles are less common that other niches except for certain times of year- such as Valentine’s Day. In the end, a little effort and searching can yield impressive results in romantic MySpace layouts.

Closing Comments

MySpace layouts are popular among those who want to express their creativity. And for those who remain dedicated to their relationship, the romantic and love niche is a great way to show others how much they mean- all with a simple copy and paste of MySpace profile code!

by Chris Channing

There is much demand for the average girly MySpace profile. Such profile designs cater to the majority of MySpace users- females. But making the proper girly Myspace design isn’t as simple as picking a couple of colors and calling it a layout. In fact, much of the design process is spent planning out shapes, layout placement, and hues and contrasts in different colors.

The first aspect of a girly MySpace profile to be considered is color. Different contrasts and hues mix differently, not to mention “hot” colors and “cool” colors interact to make interesting combinations. For girly themes, most colors are bright in hue, colorful, and contrast well with secondary colors to be used. While many colors that are considered girly are pink or purple, light greens and blues are also widely used. It’s also possible to mix black with several different colors, although this will look much like current gothic themes.

Next up for girly design practice is the different shapes to be used. Girly MySpace designs commonly use rounded corners, circles, and other “fluid” shapes. It is common to see vector graphics as well, such as the case with many stars and leaves that many girly profiles have. Ribbons and stripes are also quite popular among the girly MySpace profile community, and they also pertain to the “fluid” layout most observe.

A girly MySpace layout just wouldn’t be complete without some form of glitter or sparkles. Glitter text is a very popular way to stylize normal text on one’s profile. And since glitter text generators exist, the process is quite easy to obtain such things. Sparkle generators for MySpace also exist, depending on the type and kind of sparkles desired. Still other girly generators exist to give shiny, glittery, and sparkly effects to text on demand.

MySpace allows for other types of graphics and codes that many girly layouts take advantage of. It’s common to see graphics of popular celebrities, movie stars, and other girly type subjects on the common girly MySpace layout. Some codes even allow girly layouts to place special effects on images, such as sparkles or special image effects.

Often times it isn’t so much as what a profile can do to maintain a girly atmosphere, but how the user fills up the profile. This means that developers and designers should allow for some expansion on their design by allowing for enough content space and color design for the user to decide on images and text. This also allows for MySpace users to express themselves further than just a snazzy girly profile, and allows for much more creativity in effect.

In Conclusion

There are many ways to express one’s creativity in finding a girly MySpace website. Following the aforementioned design practices will allow for developers to better target the girly MySpace theme market. Mixing up shapes and colors can provide limitless different types of themes for MySpace users to download. For designers, keep in mind to leave enough ample opportunity for MySpace users to edit and manipulate the design to make it their own.

by Chris Channing

MySpace is a social networking platform that puts an emphasis on social interactions and commenting. But for those who are looking to solve many of the annoying aspects of MySpace, removing the comment box in a MySpace profile will prove to solve quite a few quarrels in the MySpace system.

The first benefit of removing the comment box in a MySpace profile is spam. No one likes getting spam comments, and we will often do anything possible in order to stop them from reaching our profiles. After all, it’s embarrassing to have ads for embarrassing medical conditions, meaningless products, or other spam advertisements that lower one’s credibility. To help cut down on this aspect of MySpace, removing a comment box can help solve the problem.

Phishing is another aspect of MySpace that is helped by removing a comment box. The worst part about phishing is that if anyone visits a profile with phishing comments on it, the phishing attempt can spread throughout one’s friends list. To help keep from passing on detriment and frustration to one’s friends, removing a comment box is a great idea to such an arduous problem.

Of course, not every reason pertains to spam and malicious behavior. It has now become popular to find a MySpace code to remove comments for the sole reason of running a professional business. Businesses are now making profiles to help broadcast their services and products in a legitimate manner. But with friends and customers commenting obscene things, this can help reduce the sense of professionalism. Thus, removing the comment box will keep business reputation running strong.

And then again, not everyone has enough patience or time for a social networking platform. Instead, they would rather hold a profile to keep in touch with friends when they need to. To keep from getting emails about comments one is not interested in, removing the comment box from a profile will enable such people to have their cake and eat it too.

In the end, removing a comment box from a MySpace profile is quite easy. It only requires a MySpace code that is as simple as copying and pasting into one’s profile. Obtaining the code is just as easy- it’s completely free and found on many MySpace resource websites. And to make matters better, one can remove the code at any time to go back to allowing comments on their profile- it’s that simple! The process should only take a couple of minutes at most.

Closing Comments

There is much to enjoy in removing a comment box from a MySpace profile. Benefits such as less moderation times, lack of dangers passed onto friends, and lack of phishing attempts are quite enjoyable. And the process of obtaining such benefits is incredibly easy, and the process should never take more than a couple of minutes. Because it couldn’t be any easier, obtaining such benefits is well worth the effort.

by Chris Channing

MySpace codes have long been around to help the average MySpace user obtain a better looking and more functional profile. But in recent months, it has become a large industry that has enabled many MySpace users to enjoy some very intriguing benefits.

Images remain to be one of the most popular benefactors of the many MySpace codes that exist today. Images can be edited, transformed, and blurred to one’s content thanks to advanced image display technologies. Blurring, editing transparency, and even embossing every image in a MySpace profile is now able to be transformed with a simple copy and paste.

Other MySpace codes are useful for tweaking a profile by hiding different functions that not every MySpace user needs. It has become popular to hide things such as the comment box, one’s friend list, or advertisements and last login information recorded. These can help make each profile unique by lacking common profile functions that millions of other profiles have. It’s also a good way to remove annoying advertisements that not only annoy the profile owner, but all those who view the profile in question.

Also popular among MySpace users is the fact that it is now possible to add large header images to profiles. This unique feature was first used in band profiles, which were at the time allowed the feature so as to better appeal to listeners and create unique layouts. The functionality is now more common among average MySpace users, however. While it can be a truly unique way to brighten up a profile, many just see it as an obstruction and as something in the way of viewing the details of a MySpace layout.

Seasonal MySpace codes allow MySpace users to decorate their profile based on the season of year. A great example would be that in Winter, MySpace codes can be used to create a snowing effect. Other seasons such as fall will make a falling leaves effect. While these are great for maintaining a festive profile, it can also add unnecessary clutter- so always be sure to not add too many effects all at once.

Lastly, there are many great MySpace codes to alter text in intriguing ways. Of the more popular types of text to be altered is glitter text, which gives a sparkled and dazzled look to text of the user’s choosing. However, this too can add to clutter on a MySpace profile, and those who want to maintain a clean and legible profile would do well to use such text codes in moderation.

Final Thoughts

Each month brings new options in MySpace codes and their functionality. MySpace users should maintain several bookmarks on different MySpace code websites so as to ensure they are current with trends and new advances in MySpace codes. Not only will this help them maintain a creative profile, but it helps MySpace users stay on the very edge of technology that has empowered MySpace since its inception.

Smileys and emoticons are used in written forms of communication to describe a particular emotion or mood that is within the message that is sent. They consist of eyes formed by colons (or semicolons to show winking) and mouths formed by various letters or symbols ranging from a D to symbolize a large smile or a left hand parentheses to express sadness. Here are several example: : ( ; ) : D.

The difference between the two is that smileys use purely text characters while the second group are pictures of little yellow faces which express the same emotions of the text smiles but without the usage of text based characters. Such little pictures can be had from smileyCentral.

Thanks to the use of text messaging on cell phones, instant messaging (IM) and message boards the use of smileys and emoticons for informal written communications has soared.

It is rare to find a youth that is not well versed in the meaning and use of smileys and emoticons on the internet and in messaging today. The youth were the first to use them and spread their popularity.

The expressions have evolved quiet a bit since the early development of these symbols. At first they only expressed happiness or sadness, but now they can express nuanced emotions like disbelief, anger, playfulness and surprise.

The use of these expressions seems to disproportionately favored by females rather than males. The cause for this may be that females feel more comfortably expressing emotions, or perhaps they are more familiar with nuanced telecommunication techniques,

Obvious benefits of using emoticons is shorter messages to convey intimate text messages although some criticize their use as being detrimental to having depth in human communications.

Use of emoticons has hit a plateau as all the smiley text combinations have been discovered. The future or more nuanced symbols lies in message forums that have longer text messages with new symbols required to display the range of emotions expressed.

Keeping Kids Safe on MySpace

There are a lot of teens who are using MySpace. Individuals over the age of 14 are eligible to use MySpace so as a result there are many teenagers who are members of the online MySpace community. These young members may appreciate the opportunity to express their creativity, express their feelings, meet new friends or stay in touch with their old friends but they should also be aware that there is the potential for danger on any Internet community. Making kids aware of this is helpful but there is also a certain degree of parental involvement which is necessary to keep kids safe when they are online.

Enforcing Household Internet Rules

Kids who use MySpace, or the Internet in general, should be restricted to a few household rules regarding Internet usage. Putting these rules in place can be very helpful in reducing the potential for danger. Some of the general Internet rules parents might consider are:

Do not post full name and address online or even school location. This will help to prevent stalking which could become a problem if online predators know where your child lives or go to school.
Restrict Internet usage to specific hours during the day. This can prevent overuse of the Internet.
Do not agree to meet online friends in person without consent. Ideally the parents should also accompany their children on these meetings and should ensure the meetings take place in a well lit, public location such as a coffee shop as opposed to a secluded spot such as an individual’s home.
Do not respond to threats or harassment. Kids should be taught to ignore this type of behavior and report these instances to parents or the Internet service provider instead of responding to the threats. Responding to threats or harassing messages can exacerbate a potentially harmful situation.
Internet usage should be restricted to high traffic locations in the house. For example kids should only be allowed to use the Internet in computers which are in locations such as the family room or kitchen as opposed to allowing kids Internet access in their bedrooms.

Monitoring Online Interactions

Parents whose children have a MySpace account should monitor their child’s online interactions on a regular basis to ensure these interactions are not potentially harmful. Parents should be particularly concerned when children are interacting with older individuals who engage in activities which are not appropriate for the child’s age or when the children are interacting with those who might be a negative influence on the child.

Parents should also be aware that those their child is interacting with may not be honest about their identity. For example a parent may think it is harmless for their 15 year old daughter to engage in flirtatious banter with a 16 year old boy but there is the possibility that her online friend is really a much older individual. Parents should monitor these activities for suspicious behavior or suggestions of meeting in person.

Reviewing the Terms of Service

Finally, parents who want to keep their kid safe on MySpace should familiarize themselves with the online community as well as the terms of service and privacy policy. This will give the parents a better idea of the type of activities their children are engaging in and being exposed to as well as the safety precautions which are in place to help you protect your child.

Keeping Personal Information Personal on MySpace

MySpace is an incredible online community which gives members the opportunity to make new friends, reconnect with long lost friends, network or even meet potential romantic partners. While there are many great social aspects to using MySpace it is also important to not there is the potential for predators to be lurking on MySpace. These predators may either be nonmembers who simply comb member profiles in search of useful information or they may be members who create profiles which mask their true identity and foster online friendship for devious purposes. In general the harm which can come from using MySpace could be either physical or financial. This article will discuss how MySpace members can avoid physical or financial harm by keeping their personal information personal.

Avoiding Physical Harm

Those who agree to meet online friends in person put themselves at risk for physical harm. Although in many cases agreeing to meet an online friend in person will not lead to any problems there is always the potential for your online friend to really be a harmful predator. Not agreeing to offline meetings is the most obvious way to avoid this type of danger. However, there are other precautions MySpace members can take to avoid the possibility encountering their online friends in person.

Not posting information which can be used to track you down can help to minimize the risk of physical harm which results from interactions with MySpace members. The most obvious information which can be used for this purpose is a full name and an address. Additionally, a telephone number can be used to find out your address. These are not the only ways predators can find you. For example if you have pictures of yourself posted on your MySpace website and post a blog entry about your plans to visit Disney Land on a particular weekend, Internet stalkers can use this information to find and abduct you.

Posting about weekend plans may seem harmless but those who know where you will be and what you look like can find you even in a crowded location. Also, if you post a blog entry mentioning you will be out of town and also include your full name and the city you live in, savvy predators can use this information to determine your address and burglarize your home while you enjoy your vacation. Those who use MySpace and do not make their website private should be aware that any information they post can be viewed by others who may have malicious intentions. Keeping this in mind helps members to realize they should be cautious about the type of information they divulge on MySpace.

Avoiding Financial Harm

The information on a MySpace website can also be used, by Internet predators, to commit identity theft or other types of financial fraud. When using MySpace care should be taken to avoid giving out sensitive information such as full name, address, social security number, credit card numbers and bank account numbers. This type of information can be used to commit identity theft and the results of identity theft can be financial ruin including bankruptcy and damaged credit. Also, the result of identity theft can be difficult to reverse. Even if the predator is caught in his actions, it may be many years before the victim recovers financially.

Smileys and emoticons are simple ways to dress up your forum posts, e-mails, and websites. If you have never used them before, there is not time better than right now. They are a great way to add your mood or how you feel about the person you are writing.

Adding a smiley to your message is a great way to make the person you are sending it to feel happy. Smiles are infectious, even computer generated ones.

Do you know someone special you just dont know how to tell them how you feel? Send your crush a message with hearts or a kissing emoticon, and they will get your message loud and clear.

If you do not get the response you want back from your crush, you can just say you hit the wrong button or were just playing. Smiles and emoticons save you from the embarrassment of having to explain your feelings face to face.

There are too many places on the internet that offer the same emoticons and graphics. SmileyCentral is a great place to find unique and new graphics for you to use. They have over 100,000 for you to choose from for free.

SmileyCentral also allows you to choose emoticons that you can use on your specific communication software. Unlike other sites that offer only a few graphics for specific users, SmileyCentral has a great selection of emoticons for use on AIM, MSN IM, Yahoo! IM, ICQ, and Outlook Express.

SmileyCentral is easy to use. You download a smiley toolbar which is automatically updated with new computer graphics. This way you can search for that special graphic you have been looking for whenever you like.

If you have not used smileys or emoticons before, smileyCentral can make your email, chat and web journaling experience much more fun. There are thousands of graphics you can choose from in order to convey to your friend, special someone or blog readers exactly how it is you feel.

by Chris Channing

The most popular of all social networking platforms is MySpace- largely due to the fact that MySpace enables users to use graphics and images in their profiles and comments. In fact, much of the MySpace user base uses such graphics in their profiles- but what is to gain from using such graphics?

It’s almost impossible to have a MySpace account and not also have seen the glitter text that has swept the entire MySpace community by storm. It’s almost as if the glittery text that so many put on their profiles is mandatory in creating a truly creative and stylish profile. Such glitter texts are obtained via glitter text generators- meaning you don’t even have to have any knowledge about graphics editing to get them.

Second most popular usage of images and graphics in MySpace goes to comedic images. Images will commonly show different scenes or images that have been edited with captions or graphical editors to give a hilarious effect. These types of MySpace graphics are quite popular to put in the profile box, as it helps spread the gift of laughter each time a profile is viewed.

Other images are useful for quoting movies, books, authors, and songs or musicians. These quotes are great for relating to friends who may also read or listen to the same things you may. Quotes also bring a certain sense of sophistication, style, and intelligent relief to a MySpace profile that would otherwise not be existent. Such quotes also help bring out the “spice” of a MySpace profile that can sometimes be hard to obtain.

Not all graphics are just for fun, however. Some graphics are best used in the actual composition of the MySpace layout itself. One may wish to have a background of cars, celebrities, favorite past times, and anything else that helps convey who and what the person owning the profile is. Other images can help supplement the user-editable boxes where the “About Me” section commonly goes. In every case, it’s always best to express one’s self with images where possible.

MySpace graphics aren’t always for decorating a layout, however. MySpace graphics are also popular for commenting and leaving images on the comment boards of others. Like previously discussed, comedic images and inspirational quotes are very popular for leaving on other’s comment board. Leaving such comments is a great way to stay in touch without actually typing a thing- after all, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Lastly, MySpace images are useful for display pictures as well. If you don’t have a camera or just want to put a different default picture up for fun- there are thousands of images available on MySpace resource websites that can help you do this.

Overall, MySpace graphics are very useful for conveying a sense of expression, connecting with others, or even inspiring or making others laugh. Because images can indeed have such an impact on one’s emotions, making use of MySpace graphics is very beneficial indeed- all that’s needed is the right MySpace resource and a little time to find what you need.

by Chris Channing

Out of all the layouts that have become popular over the years, the celebrity MySpace layout has been constant in its popularity and successes. We all know that certain friend or family member who uses a celebrity MySpace layout- the real question is as to what benefits using such layouts hold.

Out of all the celebrities that are featured on MySpace layouts, celebrities that are new to the entertainment industry are usually the most popular among MySpace addicts. This means that because celebrities are so plentiful, finding a celebrity MySpace layout in question is no hard task at all. The real problem, MySpace users attest, is sifting through all the results that come from searching for celebrity layouts.

Statistics show that younger children are much more likely to make use of celebrity MySpace layouts than others- most likely because they are more probably to idolize a celebrity than others would. Females also commonly opt for such layouts, although men and adults aren’t immune to the celebrity MySpace layout craze that has been sweeping the MySpace community.

The best part about celebrity MySpace layouts is the fact that they will commonly have many results for the same celebrity. This means if you have a certain style you like in MySpace layouts, such as a color or pattern, you will be much more likely to find something that suits you with celebrity MySpace layouts than layouts of other genres and subjects. While this usually holds true- it isn’t always certain, and searching through results is often the only answer to the problem.

The best part about celebrity MySpace layouts is the fact that graphic designers can cater to one’s needs, without anyone ever having to touch a bit of CSS coding or graphic editor programs. Graphical editors and programmers commonly target celebrities with their works, since they are indeed so popular and the audience for them is vast. This means that, on average, celebrity layouts usually look better than counterpart layouts.

Because celebrities don’t always stay in the spotlight of the media eye, it’s common for them to also shift out of the MySpace layout industry as well. In this case, it’s important to keep tabs on your favorite MySpace layouts resource site in the long term, so you’ll be updated on the newest and most popular celebrities that come over time. Doing so will prevent anyone from sporting a celebrity that has since become unpopular on their MySpace profile.

Lastly, the MySpace celebrity layout is more than just a layout- it’s a way for MySpace users to express their creativity and their aspirations, goals, or heroes in life. The classic celebrity layout has been popular since the inception of MySpace for a reason- it’s hard to find anyone who doesn’t keep tabs on Hollywood as we know it today.

Celebrity layouts for MySpace will continue to be one of the biggest and most popular categories in MySpace layouts. The only problem is finding unique and innovative layouts for the celebrity in question. But with a little searching and good will, doing so is easier than one may think.

It isn’t always easy to find the best MySpace resource site, since so many are in existence. But if you are looking to find the best free MySpace layouts, graphics, techniques, and modifications- there are a few characteristics of MySpace resource websites you should keep an eye out for.

Above all else, MySpace resources should be honest with how they offer their services. It is common for a MySpace user to use a new profile that they found from such resources, only to find that there are ads on it. While this isn’t in itself a horrible atrocity, as it does help the free resource industry, it isn’t honest. MySpace resources should thus tell users of what they add to their profiles and resources.

The best MySpace resource will have a good design and even better organization. It is common for the lesser quality MySpace resources to only exist to make a profit- and their design and organization will be lacking as a result. In this case, it’s best to take a good look at how a MySpace resource is structured before bookmarking the website in question- as they may not be the best suitable choice.

Another point of interest in determining the best MySpace resource is to see what they offer in terms of generators. Several different types of generators from layouts to graphics exist- and those who offer them are generally more dedicated in what they do than the rest of the pack. Some free MySpace layout websites also commonly offer their own branding of these generators- which proves that they are probably the cream of the crop in terms of MySpace resource websites.

The optimal MySpace resource will also be completely free. Never should a MySpace user have to pay for any of the services they want to use or incorporate into their own MySpace profile. There are always free alternatives to anything relating to MySpace- so don’t be fooled by any pricing or gimmicks that seek to take money from users in exchange for MySpace layouts or graphics.

It has become increasingly popular for MySpace resources to cater to the direct demands of their community. Thus, it is important for MySpace users to seek out such resources, as they will likely be of the best use when trying to find the best graphics, layouts, and other types of MySpace add-ons. They will commonly have forums and contact forms in which to keep them updated on trends and popular topics.

It is also a good idea to pick a few of your favorite MySpace resource websites and visit them regularly- so as to keep up to date on what is the latest and greatest in free MySpace layouts, graphics, text, quotes, and other types of MySpace resources.

In the end, it is best to keep in mind the aforementioned tips- and find as many resources as you can and bookmark them. After all, keeping up to date on what’s new in the MySpace scene is only a matter of bookmarking several resource websites.

MySpace is a very large social networking platform, of which allows users to use and create a wide variety of layouts. But one of the most compelling and intriguing of the layout types is the quote layout- which features some sort of quote by famous authors, musicians, politicians, and other important figures.

As studies go, one is much more likely to see a quoted layout as being flashy or appealing to the eyes, as compared to other types of layouts. Other types of layouts aren’t necessarily flashy, and quotes can be put in the user-edited boxes that users fill information with. So to cater to the flashy needs of MySpace users, many quoted layouts will be parallel with popular culture.

The best benefit in finding a quoted MySpace layout is the fact that one can simply do a search on their favorite lyric or quote, and find a custom tailored MySpace layout just for them. This makes the arduous act of sifting through hundreds of different layouts a nonissue, as the search will simplify the process for MySpace users trying to find the best MySpace layout for their style.

Not only do MySpace quote layouts make finding the layout one needs easier, but it also usually leads the user to find more works and materials by the one giving the quote. If one were to find a MySpace quote layout based on lyrics, for instance, it is very possible that the user doing the search will also find results for other songs by the artist- meaning finding new music one may like is simplified.

MySpace layouts also can exhibit one’s intelligence. When one quotes a piece of literature, prose, or poetry- it often shows that the user is well versed in the arts of literature. This, in turn, gives the impression that the user is rather intelligent- something not all MySpace users can attest for. This also is a great way to meet other intelligent individuals you may not have otherwise had the chance to meet.

MySpace quote layouts also serve their purpose as an easy way to show what the user’s taste in arts is. It is common for one to obtain a MySpace layout, only they do not like the color, borders, or other attributes of the layout in question. But because the MySpace quote layout is usually much more targeted to the quote instead of a general audience, it is much more likely users will find satisfaction in what they obtain with the layout.

Another popular use of quoted layouts is the romantic sense of usage. When one wishes to express their love for another individual, it’s usually common to go find an “I love you” type layout that will express their feelings to their entire friends list on MySpace. This is usually more dominant among females, however, as men usually do not dabble with romantic topics on average.

Overall, MySpace quote layouts are very good for finding a specific taste or need to fill. It can also give the impression of intelligence, style, and suavity. The only problem is finding a MySpace resource site that can cater to one’s quoted needs.

Sometimes, the best things in life are free. With the “open source” revolution going on, it has now become popular to give things out for free for others to build upon, rather than charge for a certain service or product. MySpace layouts are no different, as some of the best new layouts are now being offered completely free.

Since MySpace are actually almost always free, one starts to wonder why there would be a need for anyone to go about paying for a MySpace layout. Some types of businesses, services, artists, and anyone who enjoys unique MySpace layouts may indeed pay for theirs. But as MySpace users find out, going for the free options are much more satisfying in terms of quality and the fact that MySpace layouts should be completely free.

There are some very impressive designs available over the Internet- some come as a surprise to MySpace users that they are actually free. Because Macromedia Flash can be used to help create MySpace profiles, some very unique effects and layouts have been made as a result. Some MySpace resources even offer such layouts for free- which truly brings new meaning to the free MySpace layout.

It’s important to stress that not every free layout is as good as a paid one, and not every paid layout is as good as a free one. It’s hard to find any one study that shows that one is better than the other. In almost every case, it’s best to simply go for a free MySpace layout, as they are just as good as paid ones in most situations.

The best thing about free MySpace layouts for designers is the fact that they can be expanded upon. Many MySpace layouts can be a chore to code initially- meaning that designers have to go through the whole process over again when creating a new MySpace layout. In this case, it’s best to get a “skeleton” MySpace layout that allows for designers to expand on the layout’s design and get to the fun part of designing a MySpace layout- all for free!

Most of the users of MySpace will never even have to think about paying for a MySpace layout, as the vast majority of the mare completely free. This does, however, come with slight negativity. Many free MySpace layout websites will include an ad or two in the layout, and then demand that users do not remove the ad. This is usually more than worth the exceptional design that the resource distributes- although it’s never pleasant to have an ad on one’s profile.

In Review

Free MySpace layouts are plentiful. In fact, it’s much more likely you’d have a harder time to find paid MySpace layouts than free layouts- that happen to be just as good! If you ever come across a website that offers paid MySpace layouts, be sure to second guess paying for one, as a little more searching can indeed help turn up a free MySpace layout just like it.

MySpace Just for Fun

There are many who take advantage of the MySpace community for business purposes such as advertising, self promotion or networking. While MySpace is certainly useful for all of these purposes, there are others who belong to MySpace simply for fun. They are not seeking to gain anything from their involvement with MySpace other than an opportunity to meet friends and have a good time. For these individuals the joy of using MySpace includes the opportunity to make friends around the world, the ability to listen to new types of music and the chance to participate in the age old practice of flirting.

Making Friends around the World

There are MySpace members who are members for the sole purpose of making friends online. This may include friends from nearby geographic regions who might become friends offline as well or friends from faraway countries who can offer insight into other cultures in addition to friendship. Typically this type of member is one who enjoys conversation and meeting new people. To these individuals friendships are usually more important than other types of relationships such as business relationships.

The use of MySpace to make friends is ideal because it is relatively safe, as long as certain precautions are taken. Most importantly members should avoid providing information such as their full name or address to others. This is important because although two individuals may have a seemingly wonderful friendship online there is always the opportunity to mask ones identity online so one of the friends may be a deceptive individual with malicious intent. This individual may use information such as a home address to stalk, harass or otherwise harass those they meet on MySpace.

While there is the potential for dangerous situations online, those who follow safety precautions can enjoy their online interactions without fear of being hurt by others. In these cases, it may not really matter if their online friend is actually not telling the truth about his identity because the other MySpace is still enjoying the conversations and is not putting herself at risk because.

Listening to Music on MySpace

Another fun activity MySpace members can enjoy is listening to music. MySpace members can place audio files in the background of their website so visitors hear this music when they enter the website. Alternatively members can place links to other musical tracks on their website for visitors to enjoy. One use of music on MySpace websites is for new bands that are looking to promote their music to place numerous tracks on their website in an effort to build up a following.

Members of MySpace who want to find some new or different music to listen to can spend some time searching other members’ website in search of music they may find interesting. Once they find websites with music they enjoy, they might want to add these members to their friends list and check back frequently to see if any new music has been posted.

Flirting on MySpace

Finally, members of MySpace may join for the sole purpose of finding others to engage in flirtatious relationships. For many the act of flirting is an enjoyable activity and flirting online is especially appealing to some because they do not have to worry about being nervous. Many individuals find they have a great deal more of confidence flirting with those they are attracted to in an online community than they do flirting with those they know in reality. Flirting can certainly be a harmless activity but when it is done online precautions should be taken to avoid potentially dangerous situations. The most basic precaution which should be taken is to keep the flirtations online and do not let them morph into meetings offline. Take care to avoid divulging any information which can allow others to determine where you live is very important. While flirting online may be a fun activity there is no way to be sure of the intentions of the person with which you are flirting.

MySpace Precautions

MySpace is an online community where members can create personal websites and meet new friends or reconnect with old friends. It can be a lot of fun and can also provide excellent networking opportunities but there are some precautions which should be taken by all users of MySpace. These precautions include being aware of the ability for individuals to misrepresent themselves online, knowing how to avoid being harmed or scammed and understanding the terms of service on MySpace. This article will discuss these three key concepts which are minimum precautions MySpace members should take to ensure their MySpace experience is pleasurable.

Beware of Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

The Internet provides an excellent opportunity for unscrupulous individuals to deliberately misrepresent themselves. This misrepresentation may be somewhat innocent such as lying about interest or activities for the purpose of being more attractive to someone you have a crush on or it can be more series. Those with criminal intent may lie about a number of factors such as their age, sex and location in order to lure another member into a harmful situation. There have been numerous stories which made national headlines about young users of MySpace being abducted by individuals they met online. Although these cases are considered to be somewhat rare, they do exist and members of MySpace should be aware of the potential for this type of activity.

Those who want to do physical harm to another may deliberately misrepresent themselves but there are other potentially harmful reasons why an individual on MySpace might pretend to be someone else. This can be done to gain the trust of other members before conducting a financial scam which will result in a significant loss of money for the MySpace members who are duped in such a scam.

MySpace members can avoid both physical and financial danger by exercising caution in their interactions with other members of the community. This includes emails and instant messages but care should also be taken to avoid posting sensitive information on MySpace pages as this information can be viewed by the general public unless the profile is made private.

Know How Much Information is Too Much

One important precaution MySpace members should take is safeguarding their personal information. This information includes, but is not limited to, the following pieces of information:

Full name
Social security number
Credit card numbers
Bank account numbers
Physical address
Phone number
Place of birth
High school attended and year of graduation
Names of children and location and date of their births

Some of the items on the above list such as social security number and bank account numbers are pieces of information most people are aware they should not divulge to the general public. However, other pieces of information such as high school attended and year of graduation or names of children and location and date of their births may seem harmless. Unfortunately this is not true. These seemingly harmless pieces of information can be used to research an individual and it might be possible to deduce where a person lives from this type of information.

Understand the Terms of Service

Finally, members of MySpace should familiarize themselves with the terms of service provided by MySpace. This information is important for a couple of reasons. First it will help MySpace members to understand their rights as well as the security features which exist in the community. Members who are aware of these facts know their course of action if they are harassed by other members of MySpace. Additionally, being familiar with the terms of service on MySpace is important because it helps members to understand which actions are permissible and which actions are prohibited. This is important because it can prevent a member from inadvertently breaking the community rules and running the risk of being banned from the community. If after reviewing the terms of service you have questions, contact MySpace directly for clarification.

Tips for Teens on MySpace

A lot of teens enjoy using the MySpace community to communicate with their friends, meet new friends or just to express themselves. Individuals who are over the age of 14 are eligible to use MySpace so there is a large congregation of young people who are creating and maintaining MySpace pages. However, teens that use the Internet to meet friends are possibly more at risk than adults who use the Internet for socializing and networking. This is due to a number of factors including teens being more trusting of others and unaware of the potential of harmful consequences and predators specifically looking for teenagers on the MySpace community.

Parents Need to Stay Involved

One of the best ways parents can help to protect their teens on MySpace is by staying involved in the child’s life. Parents should be aware of whether or not their teen has a MySpace profile and if the teen has created a profile the parent should let the child know they will be reviewing the profile frequently.

Then parents should follow up on their vow to check the profile periodically to ensure the teen is not engaging in questionable activities or interactions. Teens who know their parents will be viewing their MySpace website are less likely to make poor choices when designing their website. Also, parents who view their child’s MySpace website regularly will see the friends the teen is making and can put a stop to any potentially harmful relationships such as budding romance with an adult member.

Teens Should be Taught Internet Safety

Although the Internet is a great resource for teens and they can learn a great deal through socializing with others online, teens should understand the Internet can also be full of predators. The Internet allows users to disguise their identity if they wish to do so and as a result those who use the Internet might be putting themselves at risk when they befriend these predators.

Providing teens with basic Internet safety rules can help to protect them. Some of the rules parents should enforce for teens include the following:

Do not give out personal information such as full name and address.
Do not send photos of yourself without your parents’ approval.
Do not agree to meet someone in person without your parents’ approval.
Do not respond to threats or other forms of harassment. Instead report these occurrences to your parents or Internet service provider.
Do not enter online areas which require additional fees without your parents’ approval and do not give out credit card information without your parents’ approval.

Offline Meetings Should be Chaperoned by a Trusted Adult

Teens who meet friends online may want to meet with their online friends in person. Meeting online friends in person can be a wonderful experience but it can also be dangerous especially in situations where the online friend has deliberately concealed his true identity.

The previous section mentioned offline meetings should not occur without the approval of the parents. Parents should not only approve all such meetings but should also accompany their teen on these meetings. Personal meetings should be arranged to take place in a busy, public location during daylight hours and parents should accompany their teen to these meetings to ensure their online friend was honest about his identity.

What to Sell on Myspace

If you already have a product or service that you want to sell, this is not a question for you. You will probably setup a website, create a profile, add friends, and then use that profile to direct friends to your website, where they can purchase your product or service.

If you have no product or service ready, that is an entirely different story. If this is the case, I suggest selling private label electronic products in specific niches. For instance, you could purchase a bunch of private label content ebooks about do-it-yourself home repairs – and then you could target that specific crowd with your products.

I personally suggest that you begin by looking for a target niche on Myspace. For instance, determine whether or not there are a significant amount of people who are interested in carpentry or soccer. Then determine whether or not there are places where they usually congregate to discuss these topics. If this is the case, then you have a market at your fingertips.

Once you have your market determined, then begin looking for private label products, including software, ebooks, and reports. Begin compiling a stock of these materials and then figure out how you will sell them to your customers. For instance, do you want to create a membership site? Or would you rather sell each component by itself?

The last step is to find some way in which you can market these products to your target audience. For instance, should you simply mention to your friends that you are having a sale at your site – and give some sort of a discount to everyone on your list? This is definitely one option.

Another option is to specifically find people who might be interested over forums and groups and send them private messages with the information. Ideally, however, you will want to restrict all marketing efforts to your friends list, as your chances of being flagged will be much smaller.

Creating MySpace Profile

Once you’ve made the decision to create a presence on MySpace, one of the things you want to do is make sure your profile will catch the eye of people that you would be interested in getting to know. In order to do this, there are several matters you should consider.

First, there is the matter of the content of your space. MySpace.com provides you with some basic fields that you can use to share information about yourself and the reasons why you have the MySpace presence. Before you dump just any old bit of information into these fields, consider carefully what image you want to project. In many ways, what you say about yourself and your interests on your MySpace profile is no different from what you would share on a job resume or some other public document. Make sure the text is informative and at the same time makes the reader want to know more about your or your subject matter.

Next, there is the matter of visual images to help enhance the look of your profile. When you select photos to upload to your profile, do so with an eye toward presenting the public persona that you want to portray. As an example, if you are a single person who wants to meet other singles in your area, it is probably not the smartest move to upload a bunch of pictures of you with love interests from years past. Instead, focus on using recent pictures of yourself that show you at your best. If you look great in business attire, then have one shot that shows you dressed up. Perhaps you like to play tennis or bowl; include a shot of yourself having a good time engaged in your favorite sport. Remember that the photos should show you as you are today and honestly portray part of your life.

Color schemes are important as well. You may want to include some sort of cartoons or sketches as part of the images you upload. That is great, as long as the images tell something about you and your outlook on life. Make sure the look of your pages is pleasing to the eye, not jarring or hard to read because of the template choices. You want people to find your page and settle down to read your profile, not take one look and head for the next site on the search engine.

MySpace.com offers a number of tools to help people with their profiles. Check out the tutorials they have on the site, and you are sure to find some great ideas that will work for you.
